2015 – The City of Breaux Bridge has been recognized for having one of the top water systems in the State of Louisiana.

The Louisiana Rural Water Association awarded the city the 2015 Water Conservation and Re-Use Award. Mayor Ricky Calais thanked the city’s water consultant Chris Richard for improving the design of the water treatment plant.

The mayor pointed out that Richard helped save the city thousands of gallons of water by recycling it.  “Instead of wasting 100,000 gallons of water per day, we are able to reuse it, so that keeps everyone’s water bills down.” said Calais.
