1995 – Christopher Richard, a project manager with the consulting engineering firm of Domingue, Szabo & Associates, Inc., was awarded the outstanding Young Civil Engineer Award by the Louisiana Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

This annual award is presented to one engineer in the state of Louisiana 30 years of age or younger who has demonstrated exceptional professional characteristics, merit, and service to ASCE and the community.

Richard is a USL alumnus and a registered professional engineer in civil and environmental engineering in Louisiana, and in civil engineering in Florida. His accomplishments include serving as local coordinator, and currently as state coordinator, of the MATHCOUNTS competition. He now serves as chairman of the Louisiana Engineering Society’s young engineers committee, and he also is a USL ASCE contact member and chairman of the Metric Mastery Event of the Science Olympiad Competition at USL
