Chris Richard Receives Waldemar S. Nelson President’s Award Chris Richard, P.E., a Project Manager with the consulting engineering firm of Domingue, Szabo & Associates, Inc., was awarded the Waldemar S. Nelson President’s Award by the Louisiana Engineering Society. The award is given annually to an engineer who has provided outstanding service to the Society, in an unselfish manner in keeping with the highest professional standards. He is currently serving as the Second Vice President of the Louisiana Engineering Society as well as the State Chair of the LES Constitution and By-Laws Committee. Susan Richard, P.E., a Project Manager with the consulting engineering firm of Domingue, Szabo & Associates (DS&A), was awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers Louisiana Section Award for the 1998 Outstanding Young Civil Engineer. This award is presented to an engineer 35 years of age or younger who has demonstrated exceptional professional characteristics, merit and service to ASCE and the community. Ms. Richard is a USL alumnus and is a registered Professional Engineer in Civil and Environmental Engineering in Louisiana. Her accomplishments include serving as an officer of A.S.C.E. student chapter and a local Florida chapter of ASCE, as Louisiana Engineering Society Lafayette Chapter Treasurer, First Vice-President, President, and as State Director for LES for two years. Susan serves on the Outreach Committee of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and is active at Our Lady of Fatima School. Ms. Richard practices engineering in the fields of wastewater collection systems, water treatment systems, and drainage design. Hugh Coughlin Award of Merit for Young Engineers. The award is to an engineer 35 or younger who has demonstrated a high degree of capabilities in his or her chosen field of engineering. Richard has been with DS&A since 1991, working on various municipal water, wastewater and drainage projects. He is a USL graduate and a registered professional civil engineer in Louisiana and Florida and environmental engineer in Louisiana. He is currently serving as state chairman of the Young Engineers Committee of the Louisiana Engineering Society. Area Businesses Win BBB Awards - Acadiana Business People Recognized for Their Better Business Standards - 1997 Lafayette - six area businesses have won special recognition from Better Business Bureau of Acadiana members, picking up awards this week in an annual award program. Winning customer commitment awards are Domingue, Szabo & Associates in the large business category. The award is given to the business that has an outstanding customer service program and exceeds customer expectations. Susan Richard Gets Young Engineer Award - 1996 Susan Richard, a project manager with the consulting engineering firm of Domingue, Szabo & Associates (DS&A), was selected to receive the LES (Louisiana Engineering Society) 1996 F. Hugh Coughlin Award of Merit for Young Engineers. The Award of Merit is awarded to an engineer not over 35 years of age who has demonstrated to a high degree capabilities in his/her chosen field of engineering, thereby indicating potential for further advancement and leadership as a professional engineer. Richard is the first woman to whom the Society granted the award. It will be presented at the Annual LES Awards Meeting in March. Richard has been employed at DS&A since 1992, working on various private development projects and on various municipal water, wastewater, and drainage projects. She is a USL alumnus and is a registered Professional Engineer in Civil and Environmental Engineering in Louisiana. She is a member of LES and the National Society of Professional Engineers, and has served the Lafayette Chapter as treasurer, first vice president, president, and as chairman of various standing committees. She is currently serving as state director of LES. His accomplishments include serving as local coordinator, and currently as state coordinator, of the MATHCOUNTS competition. He now serves as chairman of the Louisiana Engineering Society's young engineers committee, and he also is a USL ASCE contact member and chairman of the Metric Mastery Event of the Science Olympiad Competition at USL |
